Round-up: brews news and more

This may be the most important Asheville article you read this week. New beer releases from Highland and Pisgah Brewing? Check. New amphitheatre construction at Pisgah? Check. How to store beer properly? Check. Dets about Asheville’s Winter Warmer Beer Fest? Check.

This is Chris at Saturday's SantaCon, which has nothing to do with this post, except he's in Craggie Brewing Company, and I'm pimping my Brews News.

Yes, we’re rocking the craft beer scene. Locally, at least.

In other news, I don’t have an on-line column this week, because the Not Appropriate for School column got bumped from print a few weeks back, but it’s in print today. If that makes any sense at all.

Other stuff I wrote that was published this week includes a Guide to holiday activities for kids (and their adults) and an update on the City of Asheville pulling the plug on public ice skating this year.

In other words, I had way too many “butt in chair” hours last week, and after next week, I’m taking two weeks off from writing everything except my parenting column. I’m saying “no.” Yes, I am. Really.

That is one of the main jobs of being a mom: saying NO at all the right moments. Glad you are taking care of you.
