Free tickets to new musical Spring Awakening

New Broadway musical and one of the biggest Tony winners in years is coming to Greenville, SC, in two weeks: March 16-21 at the Peace Center.

The first personĀ  to answer the question, “What was your favorite song when you were a teen?” gets two tickets to opening night of Spring Awakening on Tuesday, March 16, 7:30 p.m. Answer in the comments section.

From their press kit:

Spring Awakening tells the story of three teenagers coming of age in oppressive 19th century Germany. It’s received rave reviews across the country, been produced in 14 countries around the world, and was recently named “the most important musical of the last decade” by The New York Times. The Denver Post called the Grammy-winning rock score by Duncan Sheik “the best original score since West Side Story.”

Tickets are $35-$65 and can be purchased here.

This musical is not for children under 13 years due to brief and partial nudity and strong language.

Looks like great fun, but I can’t get there on a school night. I’m sure someone who reads this blog can, though.

There were so many! I don’t think I can narrow it down to one. But I heard REM’s “Try Not to Breathe” the other day, and it reminded me that I so loved its angsty drama when I was a teenager.
